Yesterday, I spoke with Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, and he did not hold back. He said that while Trump has been busy playing footsie with Putin and hiding his Epstein connections from the public, the American people have been suffering. We also discussed how NY Democrats are working to fight back against the redistricting battle in Texas with some moves of their own, and that House Dems aren’t pulling any punches while trying to get transparency from the Trump admin on the Epstein files. In fact, just this morning, the House Oversight Committee voted to subpoena Ghislaine Maxwell — a move spearheaded by Rep. Tim Burchett, a Republican from Tennessee — after Mike Johnson canceled all votes in an effort to block Reps. Khanna and Massie’s petition.
Finally, Leader Jeffries and I talked about how Democrats need to inspire hope and curiosity in our message rather than only take the oppositional approach — give people something to fight for, instead of just something to fight against.
