BREAKING: Trump Gets Fact-Checked and RUNS AWAY

Lying about numbers again? We're shocked.

Today, Trump visited the Federal Reserve with Chairman Jerome Powell while continuing to pressure Powell into lowering interest rates or resign his role. For context, previous presidents have tended to avoid any contact with the central bank to ensure it doesn’t look like the White House is threatening its independence — particularly with the issue of interest rates. Looks like the mask is fully off now.

The Federal Reserve is undergoing renovations, and has been for years, which Trump is using as further fodder to crack down on Powell. Today, Trump claimed the renovations for the two Fed buildings in DC have gone over $3.1 billion — over budget for the $2.5 million project — while Powell shook his head on camera and said he wasn’t aware of that.

Trump’s response? “Yeah, it just came out.”

Turns out, Trump actually just added in the costs of a separate, third building that opened in 2021, and he just got caught trying to lie to the American people again. Good on Chairman Powell for calling him out on live TV and exposing just how little Trump knows about anything.

After getting fact-checked in real time, Trump predictably made excuses and ran away to take more questions outside, (ok this which didn’t go much better. Senator Tim Scott told Trump that the unemployment rate is 4.1% due to his leadership — true, but not a good thing, since it was lower when he took office. All this, just to distract from the fact that Trump is in the Epstein files.
